What it does
A raid, a wave of departures after an announcement, a channel that has gone silent since a moderator left: all three are visible in the counters hours before anybody reads a chart. Nobody reads a chart at three in the morning.
A watch is one sentence — this metric, over this window, above or below this number — and the module's whole job is to say it out loud when it becomes true.
The third condition is different: it compares the present against the server's own past week, because most servers cannot name their own normal in advance. It says nothing until that past exists, which is the honest answer for a server installed this morning.

Switch the module on

Try it before you trust it
Run the preview. "Would have fired forty times yesterday" is the answer that stops an alert channel from being muted on its first day.
Frequently asked questions
Why does "far from usual" say nothing on a new server?
It compares against the windows before it, and eight of them are the least that can be called a habit. A usual drawn from three numbers is three numbers, and an alert built on it would be noise.
Does it read what people write?
No. It counts, and never keeps a word: the metric is how many messages, never which ones.
How far back does the preview go?
Up to the last eight days, which is how long the minute-by-minute measurements are kept. Alerts themselves stay a month.
