Music

A room listening to the same thing, at the same time.

What it does

Sharing music on a server means pasting a link and hoping everybody plays it at the same moment. Nobody ever does.

The Music module plays into the voice room people are already in: one queue, one thing at a time, and the room decides together.

Control belongs to the room that can hear it. Somebody in another channel cannot change what you are listening to.

What you can do

  • A queue up to 500 tracks, added by title, by link or by radio address
  • Internet radios, played straight from their stream address
  • Repeat one track or the whole queue
  • Pause and resume with the same command
  • Ten upcoming tracks at a glance, and the count of the rest
  • Control reserved for the voice room that hears it

How to set it up

3 steps · about 3 minutes

  1. 1

    Switch the module on

Enable Music on the dashboard. Nothing else is required to start.

  2. 2

    Join a voice room

The bot plays where you are. It joins when you ask it to and leaves when you stop it.

  3. 3

    Type /play

A title, a link, or a radio address. Everything after that is queued behind it.

Frequently asked questions

Who can control the music?

Whoever is in the voice room that hears it. Somebody in another channel is refused, with a sentence saying why.

Does the bot stay when the room empties?

No. It stops when the queue ends, and letting go of the room is the whole point.

Can several servers listen at once?

Yes, within a limit. Every stream costs the machine, so past a point a server is politely asked to try again in a few minutes.
